Steven Alexander, Ph.D.
Steven is the administrator and senior therapist for The Counseling Center of Alexander & Associates with offices in Benton and Murray, Kentucky. A member of the Christian Speaker Network, Steven is a noted researcher, author, psychotherapist, and public speaker.
Steven grew up in rural western Kentucky and attended Mid-Continent University where he graduated magna cum laude with a major in Biblical studies and minors in psychology and Christian education. Steven was named All American Student two of his three years at Mid-Continent. He continued his education at Murray State University graduating summa cum laude with a post-masters degree, Specialist in Education, majoring in clinical counseling.
In 2000, Steven began doctoral work at Southern Illinois University. While studying at SIU, Steven was nominated and joined Kappa Delta Pi, an educational honor society. Throughout much of his education, Steven was employed by a regional mental health treatment center, working himself up through the ranks including counselor, counselor supervisor, and administrator.
Returning to Kentucky, Steven opened a private practice in counseling and began work on his dissertation, The Relationship of Personality Disorders and Addictive Behaviors. Steven, a Kentucky Colonel, was recently honored by the Kentucky House of Representatives with a Citation for his " remarkable ambition and exceptional dedication through his ongoing efforts in this most worthwhile business venture."
